Raúl comes from a place south where the sun shines fiercely. He is a Translator, who occasionally volunteers as a DJ. His inaugural collection "All Our Brown-Skinned Angels" was nominated for the Washington State Book Award in Poetry for 2013 and is one of the twelve 2014 Jack Straw Writers. 

From 1999 to 2001 Jacque performed with the only Cuban Charanga Orchestra in the Noth West: Charanga Yerbabuena.
